DJL68 While overpriced for certain (no digital booklet even), I still could not resist adding this back into my collection. The 3rd offering from the band finds them at their creative peak, playing some of the most powerful technical thrash to emerge not only from the 80's, but right up to this day as well. Sporting a nice remaster as the icing on the cake, the grumbling at purchase time has been overcome by 100% musical satisfaction. Favorite track: The Deathwish.

MrNoddy I still have the vinyl I bought as a 12 year old and am so glad to have this download to listen to on the move.

For me this album changed thrash metal. It's incredibly technical and has time signatures that you just didn't hear on metal albums in the 80's. It's dips into prog territory but never relents. This is an absolute masterpiece and a must for anyone who loves heavy music. Seventeen years on and it's still amazing.

about

In their early form, DEATHROW was your basic thrash metal band attempting to perform ferocious material (Raging Steel and Riders Of Doom) that demanded more than their abilities could muster. Just two years later, the band had matured significantly. The guys in DEATHROW found that 1988 was a headier, bar-raising new metal world; their third album, Deception Ignored, had to be light years ahead of anything they’d done previously. And it was. It wasn’t even necessarily ahead of its time; it was very much of its time, rubbing shoulders with a small, rarified set of bands (Watchtower, Voivod, Coroner) taking the heavier side of metal into wilder territory in the name of progress.
