about

Original release information from 2004:

AGE OF RUIN’s debut release, Black Sands Of The Hourglass, is a no holds barred metal assault. Whether it be the driving rock crunch of “Cracks In The Mirror” and “Withered Rose” to the beautifully constructed instrumental, “Angel Dusted Dreamlock,” or the urgency and utter doom of “Echoes In Stained Glass” AGE OF RUIN are nonetheless smashing all pre-conceived barriers between metal and hardcore. Their sound can be compared to the hardcore/metal crossover act, Darkest Hour, and with that comes an In Flames/At The Gates likeness, naturally. The strength of the material heard on Black Sands Of The Hourglass captured the attention of TRIBUNAL RECORDS immediately.
