DREAMSCAPES OF THE PERVERSE entered the metal realms with a self released EP entitled The Rise Of Self in 2002. It is now 2005 and their Tribunal Records debut, Gignesthai, is a symphonic and masterfully crafted epic metal affair. DREAMSCAPES OF THE PERVERSE have flawlessly produced a breathtaking exploration into every depth that heavy metal has to offer. Whether it is the thrashing blast-beats and virtuoso guitar solos found in “World Of Malice” and “The Sickness Dominion” to the beautifully lush and orchestrated string sections emcompassing title track, “Gignesthai,” DREAMSCAPES OF THE PERVERSE have written an album that has something for every metal fan to consume and enjoy. Melody and ferociousness walk hand in hand along a dark and lonely path known simply as “Gignesthai.” Won’t you take a stroll with us? We can’t promise you will make it back, but you will at least go out with a smile on your face.

The 9 tracks on Gignesthai are mostly reminscent of Dimmu Borgir, Emperor, Zyklon and Opeth.

One of my favourite albums. Fantastic from start to finish, with amazing music and vocals, and perhaps the best screaming I've heard in music. I always listen to it in its entirety and follow it up with their second album, and it's always an amazing experience. grimfate
