about

Original release information from 2002:

Everafter hails from North Carolina, a state known better for tobacco and nice beaches than punk rock bands. Yet this hasn't stopped this relatively young band from making a name for themselves around the local music scene and into other areas up and down the East Coast. Writing songs consisting of powerful guitar work and strong melodic vocals, Everafter is the creation of musicians who have been involved in the local punk scene for several years. Now, more mature and versed in songwriting, the band is on the verge of breaking out.

Fronted by a unique and extraordinary female vocalist, Ashley Smith, Everafter manages to create a sound that is somewhat unique in the world of emotional pop punk. It's typical to hear a guy singing about a girl who broke his heart, but it's unusual to hear a girl sing about heartbreak with such conviction. Everafter's songs blend gut-wrenchingly emotional vocals with solid and melodic musicianship. This makes Everafter a standout in a genre that is quickly being overrun by carbon copies and MTV-created buzzworthies.

Do you enjoy Newfound Glory, Saves the Day, and No Doubt? Are you old school? Then maybe I should mention Copper. If you dig any of the aforementioned bands you will surely enjoy Everafter. Pop music for the punk rock kids.

The bonus demo tracks are taken from 2003 session after Ashley Smith's departure from the band.
